The nose is long and large with a wart on the right nostril. The ears are well defined though small and set far back. The rear of the head is hollowed out to form a vertical handle bar. There is a round motit at the center of the rear of the hat. Abelam People, Prince Alexander Mountains, PNG, Melanesia. Soft wood, alstonia with black patina over pigments.
